Step 1: Choose A Niche
Choosing a niche require something called market research. I've learned that it's not so bad to choose what's called an evergreen niche (a competitive niche) because the fact that it's competitive means there's money in it. However, choosing a less popular niche mean there's less competition. Ideally you want to choose a niche that has products in high demand but low supply. Meaning, a niche that is trending but doesn't have many people promoting products within it.
So that's exactly what you should aim for... trends. Trends are newly rising in demand which means, if you get in early, you can start selling products in that niche before other marketers catch onto it.
Step 2: Pick An Effective Domain
Your domain is important because it's sort of like the sign on your door. If you choose a bad domain, or something that doesn't clearly communicate your goals, then it will feel weird, or you'll miss out on branding opportunities with prospective clients.
Come up with something that says who you are, what your niche/field/sector is, and what your intent is. Obviously you don't want a domain 50 characters long, so you need to think of a creative name that is a compromise of all the things you want the prospect to be aware of as soon as they see your link.
Step 3: Get Some Hosting
Go to HostGator and click cloud hosting, signup for the business cloud.
Step 4: Install Wordpress
Just login to your cPanel and click "1-Click Wordpress Install" simple as that. Then all you have to do is go to yourdomain. com/wp-admin and login to start editing your site.
Step 5: Create A Pro Email
Go ahead and create a professional email so you can start using it from the beginning. Simply go to your cPanel, then click "Email" and you'll immediately see the option to create yours. You can login to it by scrolling down after you create it, click the button to the right of it, and click "access webmail"
Step 6: Build A Pretty Site
Start formatting your site right away because, although you'll probably change it, you want to have a starting point. Once you login to your Wordpress backend click "Appearance" > "Themes" and click the Add + box.. Choose a good looking theme. Something relevant and relative to the niche and product you have in mind. Iron out your color scheme, go to "appearance" > "customize" to change your titles and subtitles etc etc
Inside "customize" you'll find a static page option which will allow you to set a main page and a blog page. Then you basically just want to spend some time making your site look good.
Step 7: Create A Product
If you're just going to make a review, news, or content site then great. You can go to any CPA network, signup, and choose some products to talk about. When you choose a product don't forget to go to their actual site and look at the bottom for some kind of affiliate portal link. If you click it you may find the site/product has some creative and marketing materials you can use. Things like banners and email swipes. Affilorama .com can teach you a lot about affiliate marketing and how to be successful.
